Personal Coaching

If you're checking out this page you're either another coach investigating what we do, or, an archer who cares enough to take the next step in the sport. To the first I say - enjoy. To the second, I want you to know how honored I am to hopefully be working with you towards your goals.

Let me continue by saying I strongly believe that the relationship between student and coach is based foremost on trust. Trust not only on ones ability and commitment; but also in each others honesty and integrity.

We begin our training together with a clear understanding of what is to be accomplished. After your evaluation we will work together to outline a training schedule and plan to build upon your strengths. To be successful in archery, requires a commitment from both the archer and the coach.

I need to mention that I will not coach subject to the overview of another coach. I will however work in conjunction with an existing coach, provided that coach is willing to work with me. I also insist that, if you have an existing coach, that you be up front of your intention, or decision, prior to starting a training program with me. It is unethical for a coach to work behind the back of another coach. Some may engage in this practice, I will not do it!! I also consider this a breach of respect toward everyone involved, so be honest and up front.

Coaching is very personal and hands on. We prefer that you meet with your coach at least once a month while two times a month is even better if you have the ability to practice on your own. For high level training you may need to meet a minimum of once a week and utilize a training plan from your coach for the in between days.

By making the commitment to accept us as your coach, we make the commitment to you to do whatever it takes to bring your shooting skills to your goals.

What you need to know about buying your bow.

 WeArchery is a game of being consistent. Repeating your shot sequence the same every time.
Great archers benefit the most by having a bow that is set up personally for them.
Bows are not something that are interchangeable from person to person and there are many things to consider when purchasing your new bow.
One thing is the Warranty, all the bows we sell have a Lifetime Warranty to the original owner. Used bows do not have any warranty.

The other important thing to consider is the bows fit. If a bow does not fit the shooter they will never be able to shoot the bow well. Having the draw length and poundage set properly will insure the archers success. 
Just by getting "measured" for your draw length does not insure a particular bow will fit you. Although there are standards for draw length, many things can effect a particular bows draw length. Some bow companies bows tend to run Long while others may run Short on draw settings. Poundage of the bow can also effect the bows draw length settings. This is why we do not just measure people for draw length, we set the draw length to fit the person while the bow is being set up.

Buying a bow based on price alone may not be the best decision. Although we have bows in a varying prices to fit many budgets, the shooter should also consider how the bow feels to them.
If a shooter gets a bow that is not right for them, they will never be able to fully enjoy their shooting experience. Thus their purchase was basically wasted money.
I see it all the time, a parent buys a toy bow for their child hoping that will peak their interest in archery. And when the child finds the bow not fun to shoot they quickly give it up and it sits in their room collecting dust. For this reason we do not sell toy bows, we sell quality archery equipment that will last your child a lifetime. Imagine buying a bow for your child that will grow with them into adulthood.
Perhaps a few lessons with one of our rental bows would benefit you more. This way you can try archery and decide if it is something you want to persue further.
If you are interested in archery and really don't know all that much about it, come by the shop and talk to one of our archery pros or coaches. We prefer face to face meeting and usually don't engage in long conversations over the phone or email. It's to your benefit to come in, meet us and get your hands on the bows and actually touch and hold them.
The bottom line is, we want you to enjoy archery as much as we do and we want all of our customers to be successful.
Of course we are in the business to sell archery equipment but, if we don't take care of you, we are not only doing you a disservice but doing a disservice to ourselves.
